**THE LAST SCIENCE** **book cover** I finally designed the cover for the book that I am satisfied with. It connects the ideas of manifolds and neural networks, which will be covered in depth throughout the book. THE LAST SCIENCE - BOOK COVER ============================================================== It took me a while to finally create the looks and colors I like. I am a big fan of monotone and grayscale color schemes. EXPLANATION -------------------------------------------------------------- The cover image combines the ideas of manifolds (including Calabi-Yau) and neural networks. The book talks a lot about emergence and topological aspects of representations. In string theory these manifolds are a way of classifying possible structures giving rise to the laws of physics. I develop some related ideas throughout the book, which suggest that geometric and topological aspects of representation manifolds arising in future AI systems will allow them to explore research directions that will forever remain beyond human imagination. The class of neural activity manifolds generated by human brains will be strictly smaller than the analogous manifolds associated to AI cognition. The holes in the object shown on the cover relate to topological aspects that will be explained in more detail in the book.
